Engineer and researcher in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as licensed trainer Yasmin Al Rawi stated that the UAE provides an ideal environment for the growth and improvement of technology associated with that sector.
Reports indicate that the country is home to numerous startups striving to develop high-quality software. At the same time, research centers affiliated with universities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah are conducting intensive experiments and developing models that utilize modern technologies like machine learning. These institutions find support in the solid and well-regulated legal systems of the country, which are concerned with regulating the use of these advanced technologies and sophisticated sciences, including electronic security laws.
These topics were discussed at a workshop titled “Enhancing Special Education: Using Artificial Intelligence in Personalized Learning,” held at the “Cultural Forum” section as part of the activities of the 15th edition of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival. These events are currently taking place at the Sharjah Expo Center and will conclude on the 12th of May.
Yasmin Al Rawi addressed the concerns raised by the emergence of robots in the context of the new industrial revolution, shedding light on the historical sequence of this era and the technological and cognitive developments it entails. Al Rawi also highlighted the inevitable transformation that will occur in the human way of life, emphasizing how it will contribute to reducing production costs and efforts, as well as alleviating the burden on humans.
Data indicates that the United Arab Emirates has crafted a national strategy for artificial intelligence with the aim of achieving the outlined goals within the UAE Vision 2071 plan, accelerating the implementation of programs and projects aimed at development and reaching a flourishing future.
The speaker said: “We are living in an era where information flourishes, and providing schools with these future skills has become imperative. Machines are capable of understanding all aspects of the educational process across different levels, in addition to their exceptional speed according to experiments where these systems were used to identify cognitive differences among children and their immediate comprehension or exposure to pressures.”
She stated that these technologies contribute to relieving the burden on teachers and educational teams by helping them in curriculum development, conducting exams, and correcting them. Many educational platforms based on artificial intelligence have been developed by engineers to enhance learning in various fields, including the platform (Vuturepedia), which plays a key role in advancing education and offering a promising outlook for the future in this field.
She further stated, “As specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, we prioritize values and address all the difficulties that societies face regarding this issue, such as hacking and electronic deception. However, humans must remain hopeful and continue to innovate and invent for the service of humanity.”
