Experts and policymakers have emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence and its profound and comprehensive impact across various sectors, indicating that its applications will be supportive and complementary to human creativity rather than a substitute for it. They described Dubai as a global destination for emerging AI projects that turn creative ideas into promising ventures.
A panel discussion was held as part of the Artificial Intelligence Summit organized by the “Dubai Center for AI Applications” in cooperation with the “National AI Program.” Participants in this session included Dave Torakia, the founder of “AI Tech,” Mohammed Blout, the CEO and co-founder of “Ketobi,” and Martin Avetisian, the CEO and co-founder of “Rational AI.” The session was moderated by Jane Weatherspoon, the Middle East bureau chief at “Euronews.”
The speakers at the session, titled “From Dubai to the World: Developing Local Companies into Billion-Dollar Global Companies,” discussed the current state of entrepreneurship in Dubai, focusing on the field of artificial intelligence. They highlighted the unique opportunities available in Dubai and the importance of harnessing them, especially in AI. They also showcased the experiences of entrepreneurs, the challenges they faced, their strategies for expanding local startups into billion-dollar global companies, and transforming innovative ideas into compelling success stories from Dubai.
Dave Torakia spoke about Dubai’s entrepreneurship and described it as a burgeoning city relying on expansion, innovation, and progress. He noted that Dubai has made significant progress in developing infrastructure and legislation to use advanced technology to improve quality of life and increase service efficiency. He called for investment in skills and empowering talented individuals to fully leverage AI technologies.
Torakia stated that Dubai embodies the principle of activating opportunities for startups through continuous innovation and renewal, emphasizing that artificial intelligence can be a driver for growth across various sectors. He underscored the need for continuous data analysis to make successful and well-thought-out business decisions.
Mohammed Blout mentioned that the strength of partnerships between the government and private sectors makes Dubai the first choice for companies looking to grow and expand in the field of artificial intelligence, pointing out the importance of attracting top talents and exceptional minds. He also emphasized that human intervention is indispensable in AI, but it undergoes continuous evolution requiring a culture of excellence and ongoing experimentation to provide innovative solutions to enhance customer experience and increase operational efficiency.
In the same context, Martin Avetisian highlighted that AI requires a wide range of diverse expertise in various fields, which Dubai offers to both large and emerging companies, indicating that the public and private sectors are working to develop internal AI models to improve efficiency and ensure data protection.
