The Presidency of Religious Affairs has employed modern technology and artificial intelligence to enhance the services provided to the guests of the Rahmah as an essential part of its strategy. Smart robots have been enhanced to guide pilgrims and Umrah performers in performing rituals and issuing fatwas, providing electronic fatwas about the Holy Shrines in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia, while considering not contradicting with religious texts and consensus, avoiding unauthorized permits, in addition to adopting a gentle, tolerant, and respectful approach in issuing fatwas.
Responding to the queries of users and scholars’ fatwas in the Holy Shrines has gone through several phases over the past years, starting from traditional methods such as chairs and old telephones, then moving to modern chairs, and then adopting digital technology and smart applications, keeping pace with modern transformations, reaching the stage of artificial intelligence in the Holy Shrines, where the smart guidance robot appeared in the Grand Mosque to provide fatwa services with instant translation in (11) global languages and respond to users’ legitimate inquiries, using the latest high-quality technology witnessed by the Presidency of Religious Affairs.
The wise leadership is characterized by its careful attention to the guests of the Holy Shrines, as it has provided them with all means of comfort and avenues for developing smart and technological services so that visitors can benefit from improving the digital service system in the House of Allah.
The guidance robot operates in (11) languages, including Arabic, English, French, Russian, Persian, Turkish, Malay, Urdu, Chinese, Bengali, and Hausa.
The robot features a 21-inch touchscreen display that can be used to provide various services to visitors of the Grand Mosque such as guidance, counseling, and opinions. The robot also has four wheels equipped with a smart parking system for ease of movement, high-quality cameras for image transmission, and high-quality speakers and microphone for clear sound transmission. The robot operates on a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network, allowing for high-speed data transfer.
The robot boasts a modern flexible design that allows for easy maneuverability to provide legal counseling services in the Grand Mosque, as it also includes high-quality camera systems to record the surrounding video and high-quality speakers to record and transmit clear sound using advanced noise reduction techniques.
The guidance robots roam the courtyards of the Grand Mosque, where they perform their tasks efficiently, and the guidance robot is considered the most popular among pilgrims and Umrah performers, as it provides services by answering their inquiries about religious and other legal aspects.
