Minister Omar Sultan Al Ulama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy and Remote Work, stated that the United Arab Emirates is actively pursuing a strategy in the digital sector. The country aspires to enhance the competitiveness of government institutions specifically, with the goal of shaping a digitally-driven future by utilizing artificial intelligence technologies, empowering individuals and communities, and encouraging them to leverage these technologies for their benefit.
The announcement was made in the context of launching the UAE Artificial Intelligence Award, as part of an initiative aimed at adopting best practices in leveraging artificial intelligence and establishing a national standard for these practices within the country. The goal is also to develop innovative solutions in the field of artificial intelligence, which will enhance the UAE’s position as a leader in developing various services and improving the quality of life through the use of cutting-edge technologies.
Leading scientists stated that the UAE government is intensifying its efforts to swiftly adopt solutions based on artificial intelligence technologies, aiming through a series of initiatives to look ahead to the future of artificial intelligence and enhance the country’s competitiveness, affirming its global leadership in several fields.
On the other hand, Mr. Mohammed bin Talea, responsible for government services in the UAE government, emphasized the importance of strategic projects aimed at raising the standards of using artificial intelligence in public service areas.
He stressed the need for effective cooperation between government institutions and their semi-governmental counterparts to enhance the services provided in line with the leaders’ directives towards establishing a governance system characterized by foresight and flexibility, continually seeking to ensure quality of life and instilling the highest levels of government service experiences across all segments of society, with the aim of elevating the UAE government services to become a global leader.
The UAE Council for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Services announced an award aimed at encouraging federal and local government entities to adopt innovative solutions in the field of artificial intelligence, with the goal of outlining a more advanced future based on digital technologies, promoting mutual collaboration between various institutions in the UAE, and fostering constructive competition that contributes to enhancing the country’s position in the digital world.
