The second International Training Conference, organized by the University of Qasimia through the Center for Continuing Education and Development in cooperation with the Police Sciences Academy in Sharjah, advised enhancing cooperation between institutions and strengthening strategic relations, according to an institutional system that achieves significant progress in addressing common interest issues.
The forum, held under the title “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Metaverse Technologies in Training for Sustainability: Opportunities and Challenges,” with broad research participation from government entities and universities, called for expanding the use of artificial intelligence and metaverse tools in training processes. The aim is to make the training process more engaging and interactive, benefiting from successful experiences in metaverse applications in various fields, in addition to establishing mechanisms to attract highly skilled human talents in the field of artificial intelligence.
It emphasized the need to enhance cybersecurity and digital security in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, to enhance the necessary capabilities that contribute to achieving the goals and strategies of public institutions and reinforce the concept of sustainable development in the country.
Mr. Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, the President of the University of Qasimia, inaugurated the second International Training Forum in the presence of His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander of Sharjah Police, His Excellency Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of the University of Qasimia, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Khamees Al Othmani, Director-General of the Police Sciences Academy, college deans, and a large gathering of guests and students.
Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of the University of Qasimia, in his speech, stated that the UAE is one of the most prepared countries to keep pace with technological advancements and has launched the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy as one of its key celebratory projects for the year 2071.
He affirmed that the University of Qasimia recognizes global challenges and immense technological advancements in the job market, expressing its interest in supporting emerging partnerships in the field of artificial intelligence and metaverse technology through organizing training events and forums that highlight the latest developments in this field and providing educational and training programs to develop skills of individuals capable of contributing to building a new future.
Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander of Sharjah Police, delivered a speech during the forum, emphasizing the importance of constructive cooperation between the Police Sciences Academy and the University of Qasimia, especially in using modern technologies to enhance security sustainability and keeping up with developments in sustainable development.
Dr. Atta Hassan Abdulrahim, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Development, highlighted the vital role of artificial intelligence and metaverse technologies in achieving sustainability. He pointed out that this forum is an important occasion to discuss available opportunities and challenges facing these technologies in the field of training and education.
Meetings were held with the participation of 13 specialized researchers representing 13 diverse academic and research institutions. The first session of the forum discussed the topic “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Metaverse Technologies in Training for Sustainability: Opportunities and Challenges.”
A group of experts and academics presented their contributions on several important topics in this session, including “New Discoveries in Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality in Training Technology,” “Defining Training Success Metrics Using Artificial Intelligence,” as well as discussions on “Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Rights” and “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine,” among other topics such as “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Crime Prevention between Islamic Jurisprudence and the Leading Role of the UAE” and “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality in Education and Scientific Research.”
In the second session of the second International Training Conference, a diverse group of speakers and experts presented related topics such as “Training Security Personnel through Virtual Reality,” “Using Artificial Intelligence Applications in Surgery,” focusing on remote medical technologies, robotics, virtual reality, “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence in Advertising,” “Standards for Employing Artificial Intelligence Applications in Media from a Professional and Ethical Perspective,” and addressing the use of mixed reality in training police officers in criminal investigation.
