Google has imposed restrictions on its “Magic Editor” to prevent its use in certain cases.
This tool is a unique and advanced way to edit photos, relying on artificial intelligence to edit images and perform highly complex tasks. It is an evolution of the magic eraser tool that has been used for a long time, but the new editor has become more expansive, comprehensive, and efficient thanks to AI capabilities.
However, AI tools like Google’s Magic Editor can read and edit documents or forge identities, so the company decided to impose certain restrictions on the use of this tool.
The intelligent photo editor displays an error message when attempting to edit personal identification photos, invoices, or any other documents with official stamps or containing personal information.
The tool prohibits attempting to alter faces, people, or parts of bodies, as well as other restrictions such as removing or moving large selections.
The “Magic Editor” tool combines the capabilities of some tools previously offered by Google, such as the Photo Unblur tool for enhancing blurry photos, and the “Magic Eraser” tool for erasing unwanted parts of an image when selected, along with other complex tasks that can be easily and quickly done without requiring extensive experience in photo editing.
The magical photo editor is available for owners of Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro new phones, and this service is expected to be available to users of other Pixel phones, Workspace subscribers, as well as Google One members.
