YouTube platform has announced the testing of a new tool called “Dream Screen” with a small group of content creators in some countries. This experimental feature uses artificial intelligence to create images and videos in the background, and can be used in short videos known as “shorts”.
YouTube stated in a support document explaining how to create customized backgrounds that “Dream Screen” is an experimental feature that creates unique images and videos based on textual instructions.
Content creators can utilize the tool to design custom backgrounds by inputting their ideas into the YouTube application. For instance, they can receive a unique background created by artificial intelligence, such as a flower garden or a luxurious pool on a tropical island. Once ideas are input into the tool, the background is created instantly, and a more imaginative background can be achieved by adding additional details to the textual prompts provided by users.
“Dream Screen” currently supports textual prompts in English only. YouTube warns that content produced by artificial intelligence may contain occasional errors, and content creators are responsible for the content they produce and share using this tool.
The company has not announced a specific date for the official launch of the “Dream Screen” feature, but it mentioned that this feature will be available to more content creators later this year. This move is part of YouTube’s efforts to provide features based on smart technology.
Recently, YouTube has begun testing a feature called “Dream Track” that allows creating 30-second audio clips for short videos.
Last year, YouTube added a feature for generating images using artificial intelligence to the “Music” streaming app to create artistic images for playlists, and it is currently experimenting with providing an AI assistant to summarize videos and answer related questions.
