Acer has unveiled new laptops featuring processors from the AMD Ryzen 8040 series.
When looking at the dedicated neural processing units for its chips, the company markets the Swift Edge 16 and Swift Go 14 devices as AI-powered devices.
The devices running on Windows 11 operating system support OLED screens, AMD Ryzen 780M graphics processor, and 32 gigabytes of RAM.
The AMD Ryzen 8040 series processors feature an advanced artificial intelligence engine, with AMD confirming that its performance surpasses the previous version by up to 1.4 times in the field of AI and the Llama 2 model.
Acer asserts that the Swift Edge 16 and Swift Go 14 come with a neural processing unit for AI tasks, such as background noise cancellation in calls and recordings PurifiedVoice and improving image backgrounds and correcting eye positions in video calls PurifiedView.
The laptops include a dedicated Microsoft Copilot button on the keyboard for quick AI queries similar to the ChatGPT chatbot.
The AMD chips for both devices include the Microsoft Pluton security processor, launched in 2020 in collaboration with AMD and Intel, providing protection for login data, encryption keys, and personal data from breaches.
Acer promotes the Swift Edge 16 as enhancing performance without impacting portability.
All device models feature a 16-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3200 × 2000 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and less than 0.2 milliseconds of response time.
The AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor is paired with the integrated AMD Radeon 780M graphics processor.
Acer has equipped the device with 32 gigabytes of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 2 terabytes of PCIe 4.0 SSD internal storage.
The Swift Go 14 features the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor and AMD Radeon 780M graphics processor.
The device comes with 32 gigabytes of LPDDR5X RAM and internal storage of up to 2 terabytes of PCIe Gen 4 SSD.
The device sports a 14-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1800×2880 pixels, 90Hz refresh rate, and less than 0.2 milliseconds of response time.
Both models feature web cameras with 1440-pixel resolution, while the Swift Go 14 also includes a privacy shutter.
