The second Chinese-Russian Library Forum, held under the theme “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence in Libraries,” concluded in Beijing last Wednesday.
In-depth exchanges and discussions were conducted on subjects such as “Professional Libraries,” “Document Preservation and Security,” “Public Social Services,” and “Smart Libraries” during the two-day forum hosted jointly by the National Library of China and the Russian State Library.
Vadim Duda, the Director-General of the Russian State Library, emphasized that digitization in the library field is not merely a passing concept but an essential requirement for success.
Meanwhile, Chen Ying, Deputy Director of the National Library of China, explained that libraries are facing increasingly diverse and complex information user needs and reading service scenarios, prompting us to think more deeply about utilizing advanced modern technology.
The opening session of the Chinese-Russian Library Forum was held in Moscow in July 2023.
