Innovative technological tools and software contribute to enhancing the experience of visitors to the Holy Mosque and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, enabling them to access multiple efficiently provided services smoothly.
One of the intelligent programs that benefits the pilgrims to the Holy Mosque in general, and the visitors of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in particular, is the “Nask” program used for booking prayer times at the Rawdah sharifah. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah urged all pilgrims, whether coming from within the Kingdom or from around the world, to utilize the program and make use of the services it offers.
The administration responsible for the care of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, through its agency for technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence, launched the “Za’irun” application, which was comprehensively updated to enhance and improve the services provided in the mosque in line with modern requirements and advanced technology.
The application aims to simplify and enhance the visitors’ experience inside Al-Masjid an-Nabawi by offering several services, including facilitating access to the mosque’s gates, prominent landmarks, and facilities through various means such as QR code scanning, Google search, route mapping, saving locations, and a map of the mosque’s landmarks.
The application also includes informative and rich content about each landmark in a concise manner to enrich the visitor’s experience, in addition to an interactive map showing the historical expansions of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi and displaying illustrated counts of the facilities and establishments within it.
Users can access the “Za’irun” application through Android and iPhone devices, supporting eight different languages: Arabic, English, French, Turkish, Russian, Persian, Bengali, and Urdu.
Registering in the application requires providing information including full name, national ID number or residency permit number or passport number, mobile phone number, email, selecting nationality, and setting a password for the account.
These efforts are made to ensure the facilitation of services and meet the needs of visitors to the mosque, and to enhance the working system, aiming to elevate the level of services provided in the Two Holy Mosques to the highest quality standards.
Development Projects in Al-Masjid An-Nabawi
The expansion project of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Al-Madinah is part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious “Vision 2030” plan, aiming to develop and update the infrastructure and religious tourism services to accommodate increasing numbers of visitors and pilgrims who come to the city annually to pray at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, the second holiest site in Islam after the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah.
The plan includes expansions in the mosque and prayer areas, as well as the development of surrounding infrastructure to include modern housing, transportation, and services facilities.
This development will also involve updating crowd control technologies and security systems to ensure visitors’ safety.
The plans indicate the use of modern and sustainable construction technologies to reduce environmental impact and provide optimal resource utilization, as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to promote sustainable development.
This project is expected to significantly contribute to achieving the goals of “Vision 2030,” which include boosting the economy and diversifying sources of income away from oil, by revitalizing religious tourism in particular.
