On November 16, the New Media Academy in Dubai signed a strategic agreement with “Core 42”, a subsidiary of “J42”, aiming to enhance the capabilities of the “GIST” model, the most advanced Arabic linguistic model globally, and improve its ability to create creative content in Arabic that meets the requirements of current media, marketing, and corporate communications sectors.
The agreement was signed by Hussein Al-Atwali, Director of the New Media Academy, and Andrew Jackson, Vice President of Core 42, during the World Media Congress 2023 in Abu Dhabi.
The partnership aims to equip the New Media Academy with the artificial intelligence tool of “Core 42” to enhance digital Arabic content and provide high-quality Arabic texts based on AI technologies. This is intended to offer more innovative solutions in various fields to assist content creators, including beginners, in creating purposeful and distinctive content.
Artificial intelligence plays a vital role in the development of societies seeking to invest in data and leverage its potential in shaping the future. The New Media Academy will work on presenting creative Arabic texts in various fields using the advanced “GIST” technology that enables the production of high-quality Arabic texts.
In collaboration with “Core 42”, opportunities will be provided for creators and content producers to benefit from AI technologies to create innovative content and enhance their learning and productivity in Arabic.
Thus, the UAE strengthens its role in promoting the Arabic language in the digital world as a testament to its identity, culture, and authentic values. This partnership reflects the Academy’s commitment to investing in AI tools to bring about positive changes and revolutionize media and creative solutions that help enhance the Arabic language and its impact in the digital world.
The Vice President of Core 42 confirms that this partnership comes at an opportune time as they continue to excel in the research and development of AI applications in Arabic, including the advanced model “GIST 30 B”.
The company seeks to enhance collaboration with creators, academics, and developers through the “GIST” model to accelerate development, improve user experience, attract more accurate and innovative content. Developing the “GIST” model should consider providing an opportunity for over 400 million Arabic speakers in the region to benefit from the potential of this advanced AI model, primarily focusing on the Arabic language.
The New Media Academy is participating in the second edition of the World Media Congress at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from November 14 to 16. The Academy presented dialogues and workshops to shed light on the most prominent Arabic and global media challenges.
“GIST,” the first model of Arabic generative AI, is the result of collaboration between the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence and “Cyberpass Systems Company”. A new version of the “GIST 30 B” model has recently been released, trained on a larger dataset and featuring a significant number of symbols in both Arabic and English languages.
This model can provide answers that are 160% longer and more detailed in Arabic and 233% in English compared to the previous version. Developed in Abu Dhabi, this model allows over 400 million Arabic speakers a significant opportunity to explore and employ the potential generative AI capabilities in various scientific, academic, and business fields.
The agreement provides an opportunity for content creators and innovators to interact with generative AI technologies to turn their innovations into reality. This collaboration reflects the Academy’s commitment to investing in AI tools to bring about positive and revolutionary transformations in our media and creative solutions.
Andrew Jackson: Our collaboration with the New Media Academy comes at a time when we continue to lead in the field of research and development of Arabic generative artificial intelligence applications. We aim to enhance cooperation with academics, creatives, and developers through “JES” to accelerate user experience growth and improvement.
