Microsoft considers artificial intelligence an essential part of modern operating systems and has launched the Copilot program for Windows devices, such as the new Surface Laptop.
Regarding smartphones, the company has managed to integrate Copilot into the Android home screen through the upcoming version of the Launcher app.
Microsoft released a trial app, you must join the testing program if you want to try it now, or you can wait until the testing is complete and transition to the final version.
You can initiate a chat with artificial intelligence by using the Bing/Copilot button in the search tool.
The latest trial version adds Copilot to the Glance feed (the top left part of the screen) where the Glance and News tabs are currently located.
Microsoft explained that you can quickly access Copilot, which helps you generate content and provide answers.
You can create images and texts directly from your mobile content using simple words, while Copilot Pro users enjoy a fast interactive experience.
When using Copilot, you can type or ask questions, or use voice input. Additionally, you can open an image from the gallery and ask questions about it.
Current collaboration with Copilot is very limited in the functions it can perform, as it cannot set alarms or turn off wireless connections on the phone.
In the future, Microsoft’s AI assistant may get additional job opportunities through add-ons.
Currently, there are 3 additional options available, including the search service, Instacart for recipes and meal plans, and Kayak for travel and accommodation search and car rental.
If Copilot becomes popular on the Android system, other companies may start developing additional components for it.
If you wish to try out the new Launcher with Copilot, you can download it from the Google Play Store and also register for the trial program.
Currently, some features of the standalone Copilot Pro app are not available in the Launcher program, such as holiday planner, cooking assistant, fitness coach, and notepad.
