/WAM/ The Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through its Strategic Planning and Performance Supervision Department, hosted the 2023 Administrative Leadership Seminar at its main headquarters, where it participated jointly with prestigious academic institutions such as Zayed University and Higher Colleges of Technology as well as Mohammed Bin Zayed University in the field of humanities.
The forum aims to promote a culture of innovation in administrations and encourage the practice of this culture in both public and private sectors, raising awareness and participation in sciences, exchanging unique experiences and competencies.
This is achieved by reviewing inspirational experiences and learning the best practices from the participating educational institutions, raising awareness about events and developments in the field of excellence management, as well as enhancing and improving means of interaction between organizations and strategic partners.
The forum provides opportunities for those interested in excellent management to come together, share fruitful experiences, and highlight the most prestigious awards in performance excellence on both local and international levels, and the characteristics of the corporate performance development journey.
The conference focused on a range of key topics including sustainability, artificial intelligence technologies, and managerial mastery ideas. In this regard, relevant bodies conducted several discussion sessions. For instance, Zayed University held a workshop discussing the main opportunities and obstacles faced by small and medium enterprises in emerging markets when adopting sustainability standards, as well as how to enhance methodologies designed for small and large projects.
Furthermore, the Higher Colleges of Technology presented their second meeting which focused on the use of artificial intelligence in improving municipality services and skills development from a future perspective, highlighting the UAE’s strategic plans in the artificial intelligence field, outlining practical applications used, and identifying the necessary skills to effectively contribute to the field of artificial intelligence.
During the third session, the lecturer at Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Humanities discussed the concept of sustainability and its importance in the current era, explaining the three main pillars of sustainability, as well as discussing the key steps towards achieving sustainability through “carbon footprint” and addressing challenges and opportunities associated with it, sparking a discussion to exchange ideas on these issues.
The fourth session delved into the study of theories of administrative superiority and how it evolves stage by stage, emphasizing the importance of this superiority in management in general and in the government sector in particular, alongside building an ideal roadmap to help overcome obstacles smoothly.
At the conclusion of the conference, Sarah Al Bariqi, the Acting Director of Institutional Excellence Management within the Strategic Planning and Performance Management Sector, distributed awards as an appreciation to the institutions that participated in the event. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to commend their valuable contribution and hard work that contributed to the success of the forum.
