Dr. Abdullah bin Shuraf Al-Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence “Sadaia”, confirmed that achieving the targets of Vision 2030 over the past eight years was due to the support of Allah and the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, since the launch of this vision on April 25, 2016. He pointed out that these efforts will guide our country towards comprehensive development and enhance Saudi Arabia’s global competitiveness.
In a statement on the occasion of the release of the Vision 2030 report, His Excellency emphasized that “Sadaia” has been leading the national direction in data and artificial intelligence since its establishment in 2019, with the aim of contributing to the advancement and development of the Kingdom in the field of data-driven economy and artificial intelligence. He also emphasized that “Sadaia” has increased its efforts to enhance its contribution to raising the Kingdom’s global ranking in the fields of data and artificial intelligence.
Authorities stated that data and artificial intelligence are linked to 70% of the goals of Vision 2030. the support of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has supported this vision by aligning the data and artificial intelligence strategy with the programs of Vision 2030. This ensures the optimal use of these technologies, making the Kingdom a prestigious player in the field of artificial intelligence, surpassing advanced countries in this area.
His Excellency noted that “Sadaia” has achieved several national achievements in its pursuit of realizing Vision 2030 as a national reference for all data and artificial intelligence matters. He pointed out that efforts have been directed towards supporting government sectors in their digital transformation efforts and developing initiatives by establishing centers of excellence for artificial intelligence in various developmental fields, including energy, health, media, environment, industry, and education.
He stated that “Sadaia” and the National Transformation Program launched the first national data index (Nuday) and the enhanced version of the open data platform, and the data governance platform, in a groundbreaking step in the Kingdom to achieve the goals of the National Transformation Program, one of the programs of Vision 2030 to enhance transparency and create a data-driven national economy, and contribute to evaluating data maturity in government entities.
His Excellency also confirmed that “Sadaia” has contributed to providing an easy and reliable experience for users through the Unified National Access application (NAF), which allows organized and facilitated access to government services.
He also mentioned that the “Tawakkalna” application has improved the quality of life for more than 30 million people in the Kingdom through over 240 digital services available easily and quickly. He praised the “Ehsan” platform, which utilized advanced technologies to facilitate donations from benefactors and ensure their swift delivery to the recipients.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi noted that Sadaia has focused on human capacity building by launching camps and training programs in partnership with renowned global technology institutions, benefiting over 590,000 individuals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Global Artificial Intelligence Summit was announced by (Saudia) with the slogan “Artificial Intelligence for the Good of Humanity” in Riyadh, with participation of more than 10,000 individuals and 200 speakers from 90 countries. Also, the Global Forum for Smart Cities was organized with participation of 100 speakers from 40 countries, and five Saudi cities were encouraged to improve their rankings in the IMD Smart Cities Index. The Kingdom is ranked at the forefront in developing artificial intelligence and increasing societal awareness according to a report from Stanford International University.
During the Guests of the Merciful program, Saudia presented advanced technology projects to serve pilgrims and Umrah performers, including the “Insight” platform that uses national algorithms to organize crowds at the Grand Mosque. The Excellence Center was launched for congestion solutions with data and artificial intelligence to develop smart solutions for government entities in the Kingdom, aiming to enhance the quality of life for city residents.
His Excellency pointed out that the United Nations platform for Smart Cities is monitoring afforestation operations and green spaces in Riyadh using satellites for training artificial intelligence models and processing data, and presenting visual imagery of green areas in the city to support the Saudi Green initiative and improve quality of life.
The President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority confirmed that “Saudia” will continue its efforts to maximize the benefits of data and artificial intelligence technologies, and achieve the vision of Kingdom 2030. He invoked for the success of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince in their steps towards goodness.
