/WAM/ The Sharjah Police organized an informative seminar titled “Generative Artificial Intelligence” on December 8. The seminar covered various aspects related to generative artificial intelligence, such as its fundamentals in the economic impact of artificial intelligence, defining generative intelligence, raising awareness about media sensationalism, and available technologies in this field, such as text generation models and technological advancements.
The seminar, attended by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, the General Commander of Sharjah Police, addressed the applications of generative artificial intelligence and highlighted the differences between usage, development, challenges, and associated risks, as well as reviewing tools and technical solutions like video and image generation, document handling, and text generation.
Colonel Tariq Al Madfa, Director of the Strategic Management and Performance Development Department, emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence technologies in shaping the future industry at present, in line with the vision of the United Arab Emirates in building an extraordinary and unconventional centennial state. This is achieved through understanding the current reality, envisioning future horizons, and preparing to deal with changes.
The UAE aims to become a leading country in various fields, and Colonel Al Madfa points out the approach of Sharjah Police in restructuring its operations to enhance preparedness for the future. They also aim to fully leverage fast-paced technologies in developing artificial intelligence and the promising opportunities it offers for security and police work.
The seminar was attended by several leaders and officials in Sharjah Police. Among the attendees were Brigadier Ahmed Haji Al Sarkal, Director General of Police Operations, and Brigadier Abdullah Ibrahim bin Nasar, Deputy Director General of Resources and Support Services. Also present were several department directors and section heads, along with a large number of Sharjah Police officers.
