Volkswagen has announced the incorporation of ChatGPT into the information and entertainment systems of its new vehicles. Now, drivers can benefit from this advanced artificial intelligence in their electric vehicles as well as in the new Golf, Tiguan, and Passat models.
The company’s German subsidiary technology, ChatGPT, has been integrated into the IDA voice assistant system, enabling drivers to interact naturally and intelligently with their vehicles.
Volkswagen promises a unique driving experience that allows drivers easy access to various information they need, whether it’s about tourist attractions, sports activities, or even helping them solve difficult math problems, all while focusing on enjoying the ride.
Kai Gronitze, a member of the board of directors of Volkswagen, responsible for development, emphasized the company’s commitment to making advanced technology accessible to everyone.
Gronitze highlighted Volkswagen’s long track record in bringing modern technologies. By seamlessly integrating ChatGPT into the driver’s voice assistant system, the company has been able to offer daily use of artificial intelligence, showcasing its products’ ability to innovate and renew.
In its quest to enhance the driving experience, Volkswagen has incorporated ChatGPT technology into its vehicles, aiming to provide drivers with artificial intelligence capabilities that are easy for them to use without the need for advanced technical knowledge.
The IDA voice assistant from Volkswagen gives drivers the ability to control the car’s information, entertainment, navigation systems, and climate control.
The addition of ChatGPT is intended to enhance the capabilities of the IDA voice assistant and open up new horizons for it.
Drivers can now ask challenging questions, engage in conversations, and receive precise answers thanks to the ability to interact with ChatGPT and benefit from its powerful language processing.
Current users of Connect or Connect Plus do not need to create a new account or download a new app. Simply, they can activate the assistant by clicking on the Hello IDA button or the steering wheel.
At Volkswagen, data privacy is protected by anonymizing the queries sent to ChatGPT and deleting them immediately. This ensures that artificial intelligence does not have access to sensitive car information and maintains user privacy.
Currently, the system supports five different languages: English, Spanish, Czech, and German. This multilingual capability has been enabled through cooperation with Cerence, a company specialized in providing artificial intelligence solutions for the automotive industry.
