His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, launched a new initiative today aimed at training a million people in coding skills for artificial intelligence over the next three years in Dubai city.
His Highness stated, “This initiative, under the supervision of the Dubai Future Foundation, aims to qualify specialized competencies and experiences in artificial intelligence application skills and their utilization to accelerate innovation, progress, and economic growth,” emphasizing that keeping pace with technological changes and trends is a fundamental element in the success of governments and societies in utilizing technology to serve humanity.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said, “We have witnessed significant acceleration in technological advancement recently, which imposes continuous changes on the nature of skills required in the job markets. Programming was one of the most important skills required years ago, but today, with the massive impact of artificial intelligence in various fields, skills in its usage and applications have become among the most promising specialized skills at present and in the future.”
He added, “We aspire for Dubai to be the most prepared for these significant transformations, aiming to continue preparing for the era of artificial intelligence, developing specialized competencies and skills that support global technological progress.” The initiative “Million Experts for Artificial Intelligence Commands” was launched in line with the goals of the “Dubai Annual Plan to Accelerate Adoption of Artificial Intelligence Applications and Implementations,” recently launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to enhance the adoption of artificial intelligence in all sectors and areas of interest to the Emirate’s future, becoming the largest supporter of the economy and the optimal user of technology, leading in adopting advanced applications. This initiative is the first of its kind to develop specialized expertise and competencies in prompt engineering in the field of artificial intelligence, a crucial skill for directing smart models and algorithms to create creative content and innovate solutions for complex challenges through precise and carefully designed instructions, providing the best way to interact with artificial intelligence to enable it to respond accurately and efficiently. This initiative includes organizing a number of training courses dedicated to enhancing individuals’ skills in generative artificial intelligence and prompt engineering, as well as assisting participants in obtaining accredited certifications that contribute to their distinction and achieve greater successes in the future. Moreover, the initiative includes organizing a variety of competitions and challenges among participants, providing opportunities for interaction between them, experts, and specialists in various creative and technological fields. This took place during the attendance of Sheikh Crown Prince of Dubai, today (Tuesday), at the final day events of the first edition of the “International Challenge for Artificial Intelligence,” considered the largest of its kind in programming skills in artificial intelligence applications. The event was organized by the Dubai Artificial Intelligence Utilization Center under the Dubai Future Foundation, running for two days, with a total prize value of one million dirhams.
