/WAM/ Following the approval of the Academic Accreditation Commission at the Ministry of Education, the University of Fujairah has opened admission and registration for new programs.
These programs include a Bachelor of Computer Science in two new specializations, “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning” and “Data Science”. Additionally, the specialization of “Networks and Information Security” has been re-accredited and reintroduced within the Bachelor of Computer Science program.
By adding the Bachelor of Computer Science program, the University of Fujairah now offers accredited programs in Business Administration (Financial Sciences, Banking, and Human Resource Management), Media (Public Relations Mass Communication), Arts (Arabic Language and Literature), Family Sciences (Social Services Management, Community Counseling, and Human Rights), and Health Sciences (Nursing).
The Director-General of University of Fujairah, Professor Dr. Ghassan Al-Qaimari, stated: “The team at the University of Fujairah is proud to offer these specializations in line with the wise leadership’s vision in the UAE, which directs the integration of advanced technology and artificial intelligence as essential components of strategic plans, to provide services and analyze data in all entities and institutions in the country, due to the crucial role that technology plays in accelerating progress and creating innovative work environments.”
He emphasized that introducing these specializations at the University of Fujairah enhances the diversity of its programs and keeps pace with the latest technological developments, reflecting its commitment to meeting the demands of the job market and the necessity of preparing a generation equipped with knowledge and skills to develop, innovate, and utilize artificial intelligence, which has become a practical reality in all aspects of life.
Dr. Sufian Al-Khawalda, Dean of the College of Information Technology, said that enrollment in the new program is currently open, with classes scheduled to begin in the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024. He explained that the program is of high quality and reliability, priorities for the University of Fujairah, and aligns with its strategy to introduce new programs that meet the needs of the job market in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
