His Excellency Major General Maktoum Ali Al Shareefi, the director of Abu Dhabi Police, affirmed that the use of smart technology has helped enhance the reputation of the capital Abu Dhabi as one of the safest cities in the world.
During his participation in a seminar on the importance of strategic alliances in achieving global stability, he expressed leadership perspectives from the United Arab Emirates within the activities of the “Isnar 2024” conference accompanying the International Exhibition of National Security and Hazard Prevention organized by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with Rabdan Academy and “Adnek” Group.
He confirmed that Abu Dhabi Police is one of the first security institutions working on improving operational mechanisms using artificial intelligence technologies since 2018 in various security and police fields, positioning Abu Dhabi at the forefront. These efforts have also led the capital to top the list of the safest cities for eight consecutive years according to the global “Numbeo” ranking.
It was pointed out that the use of smart technology in Abu Dhabi Police is experiencing continuous development by enhancing capabilities to achieve aspirations in facing global security challenges, predicting the future in police and security work, keeping pace with developments by using it for predictive analysis to deal with emergencies, optimize police patrols, and combat crime in cooperation with an integrated database within the unified criminal system.
He explained that future plans will focus on utilizing resources efficiently, leveraging talents and human capital, and employing expertise in the field of artificial intelligence to monitor developments, benefit from modern technology and artificial intelligence in enhancing Abu Dhabi’s readiness through effective response, ensuring security, increasing readiness, and security preparedness.
He praised the national cadres and competencies in Abu Dhabi Police management who have successfully used and applied artificial intelligence technologies in security and police, through predicting incidents, distributing future traffic movement, and achieving qualitative development in general performance by building an advanced analytical system.
He indicated that “Isnar Abu Dhabi 2024” is part of a strategic vision aimed at enhancing security innovation fields to keep pace with global transformations, developing national security concepts, updating security strategies and policies, in addition to providing a prestigious international platform for exchanging insights and ideas and discussing critical security issues between decision-makers and specialists.
